Munich, 16.09.2025 – Agile Robots, a leading provider of AI-powered automation solutions, has acquired the remaining shares in the BMW Group spin-off idealworks. Following its initial investment in 2023, Agile Robots now owns 100% of idealworks, marking a major milestone in their partnership. BMW Group will remain a committed long-term partner, underscoring its continued confidence in idealworks’ technology and innovation.

Founded in 2020, idealworks has built a robotics ecosystem that combines its automation platform AnyFleet, simulation software iw.sim, and autonomous mobile robot iw.hub – all supported by a growing network of technology partners. “This is a pivotal moment for idealworks,” said Michael Alexander Schneider, CEO of idealworks. “With Agile Robots as our technology partner and access to a strong group of companies, we have the resources to further scale our robotics ecosystem, enter new industries, drive international expansion, and continue our trusted collaboration with BMW Group to advance their robotics activities.”

The acquisition strengthens both Agile Robots’ and idealworks’ position in global industrial automation and accelerates the adoption of next-generation robotics. Together, the companies aim to make industrial operations smarter, faster, and more efficient by combining automation expertise with AI-driven robotics. For customers and partners, it ensures continuity, stability, and innovation at the highest level.
