Embedded Control Engineer

Embedded Control Engineer (m/f/d)

You will be a member of the robot control group, responsible for the development and validation of algorithms and software which realise motion commands and dynamic behaviors.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Implement real-time motor and motion control algorithms in C/C++/ASM on an embedded hardware for torque-controlled robot joint units
  • Implement and document communication, state machine, diagnostics, and maintenance functions
  • Conduct testing and debugging of controller functions and performances
  • Provide feedback and support to facilitate design, integration, and toolchain improvements

Essential Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field
  • Experience in development and validation of embedded real-time control and filtering functions in C/C++/ASM for a microcontroller
  • Familiarity with some of the following tools: GCC/GDB, Keil, IAR, CCS
  • Familiarity with some of the following architectures: ARM, AVR, MSP
  • Familiarity with some of the following communication interfaces/protocols: CAN, LIN, EtherCAT, I2C, SPI, UART, RS485, Sercos
  • Ability to compile and link software using build systems like Makefiles, CMake or autotools
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control system
  • Motivation to collaborate and take on diverse responsibilities
  • Good command of English

Beneficial Skills:

  • Experience with testing and validation of mechatronic actuators
  • Experience in field-oriented motor control, and DSP or FPGA programming
  • Experience in data analysis using Matlab and Python
